We absolutely need a history section to show investors/funder/members/affiliates that BCA has been around for a while and to showcase everything that BCA has done over the years.
For that reason, this page will require a bit of work to make sure the information is full, relevant, and accurate.
I don't know if there is some kind of archive or diaries or something or if there are previous members we could speak to or anything like that.
The main focus though should be to show humble beginnings followed by continual growth up to where we are today then finish with a brief summary highlighting the contrast between then and now (in terms of growth!!).
Beith Community Association was formed in 1963, when a group of local residents came together with the idea of establishing community facilities in the town. The association was responsible for the current Community Centre being opened in 1964, although at that time the centre only comprised of a Main Hall, Cafe and downstairs meeting rooms.
As the community Association went from strength to strength the community centre grew, with an extension comprising of the sports wing opening in 1977. The work of the association continued to improve the facilities between the 1980’s and present day, this continued work has seen us have the excellent facilities that we have which includes pool/snooker tables, wide screen TVs, a mobile bar and improved car park.
The work of the association continues today, with the association always on the look out to make sure our community has the best facilities that it can.

In 2014 the Community Centre celebrated its 50th Anniversary. To mark this occasion, the Community Association organised a dinner dance on 3rd October 2014.
Representatives of every organisation who used the Centre were invited along. A good night was had by all!
March 2020 saw Beith Community Centre entering a period of prolonged closure caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Re-opening in August 2021, BCA faced a depleted programme of regular activities. Nevertheless, BCA was determined as ever to bounce back. The Association has a long rich history and still has many stories to write As we come to the end of 2021 and to the end of the associations biggest ever challenge in its history we look forward to writing the association future stories returning the association to being the beating heart of our community.
